Students Explore Art History, Studio Work in NYC

In the fall term, we had art history as an artist perspective. We looked at photography, painting, installations and then we learnt a lot about the art scene. Everyday we’d get so much accomplished and that would change our perspective. There was this energy that you can just live off of and fuels you while you were there, like this constant like “Go! go! go!” It was more of a immersion into the art world. We went to countless museums, galleries, artist studios. So many different kinds of art that we wouldn’t see if we weren’t in New York. I think that New York was the best place that we could go to. It was just this incredibly intense, amazing experience of a complete immersion getting to understand what life is like as an artist in New York. Even though it was just two weeks, we saw so much of the art scene and we saw what happens behind walls of museums. This program happens only every two years and I think I was very lucky.
