National Weather Museum and Science Center Promotional Video

Weather affects everyone. The life-saving science and technology we use today has a rich history. The development of weather radar. The field experiments – both on the ground and in the skies. The advanced forecasts and warnings that help keep you and your family safe. We’re bringing it all together with the creation of the National Weather Museum and Science Center. Our primary goals are to preserve, educate and connect. The history of weather research comes alive through our immersive exhibits. One-of-a-kind artifacts and instruments. Rare Photographs and film. And the stories they tell. You won’t be able to miss our largest artifact – a completely restored T-28 storm penetrating aircraft. The exhibits will be ever-expanding as we collect and recover new artifacts. Not only will you learn how far the weather community has come but where they’re headed. Cutting-edge technology and future weather tools will be showcased as well. We know inspiration is where education begins. The National Weather Museum and Science Center will help connect our younger generation with the fascinating world of science and meteorology. Hands-on activities. Interactive displays. Our vision is to make learning about weather and weather safety both engaging and exciting. This is your museum and we invite you to become involved in its creation. There are several ways you can help with this effort. One is to become a member – as an individual, family, or corporation. Another way is to donate weather artifacts for display in the museum. Also, we need volunteers. Volunteers who can help inventory items or help with outreach events. With a storefront facility, we’ll need volunteers to help us run the store. We’re excited about taking the next steps towards creating the National Weather Museum and Science Center. We hope you’re excited too. We ask for your support so that the next generations to come will be inspired by the history and science of weather. To learn more about this project and how you can become involved go to We look forward to working with you.
