The spirit of Narihira’s wife, who got delighted by finding the late Narihira’s image, 色なうて匂ひ。
gradually disappears leaving her emotion and thought toward Narihira, as if flower withers and fades away leaving its fragrance. 残りて在原の寺の鐘もほのぼのと。
The sound of the bell of the Ariwara Temple tells the coming of the dawn and the eastern sky is becoming bright. 明くれば古寺の松風や、
When it becomes bright, in the temple there are only wind blowing through and half torn-off banana leaves swinging, 芭蕉葉の夢も。
