ASKING FOR YOUR CHILDREN’S
ARTWORK THAT COULD END UP ON AN
ART WALK THROUGH THE CITY OR ON
A CALENDAR.>>THE THEME IS A BRIGHTER
VISION FOR OKLAHOMA’S FUTURE. WE WANT KIDS TO BE POSITIVE AND
TO GET CREATIVE.>>JOE DORMAN, WITH OKLAHOMA
INSTITUTE FOR CHILD ADVOCACY,
SAYS THEY WANT CHILDREN TO SEN
IN ARTWORK ABOUT WHAT THEY WANT
TO BE WHEN THEY GROW UP, OR HOW
THEY THINK OKLAHOMA WILL LOOK IN THEIR FUTURE. THE ORGANIZATION IS LOOKING FOR
365 ENTRIES TO FILL EACH DAY OF
THEIR CALENDAR.>>WE STARTED DOING THIS

SHARE IDEAS WITH LAWMAKERS ABOUT
THE STATISTICS OKLAHOMA STUDENTS
FACE TO TRY AND ENCOURAGE THEM

TO ENCOURAGE ART PROGRAMS IN THE
OKLAHOMA SCHOOLS.>>IT DEVELOPS CRITICAL THINKING
SKILLS, IT DEVELOPS THAT
CREATIVITY, WE NEED THAT KIND OF
MINDSET IN FOR THESE YOUNG
