How to Decorate a Home with Picture Frames

[MUSIC] Picture frames aren’t just for family
photos. Here’s an example of how we created a kitchen gallery wall using frames from Better
Homes and Gardens. We start with a common theme. Here we’re showing seed packets Other
things could landscapes, postcards, vintage magazine covers, and as long as your subject
matter’s the same, it’s okay to have a few different frames. Here I have different sizes,
styles, even colors. Now the real focal point on this wall is the clock and to complement
its round shape we’ve thrown in a few round plates. It’s all about getting comfortable
with mixing and matching. So, the next time you’re taking on a project like this, it’s
all about getting creative and letting your personality shine through and have fun with
it. For a more personal creation, ditch those seeds and start searching your attic for some
of your favorite photos. Here’s a few tips. First, we’ve taken all of our photos and converted
them to black and white. White better holds the garden’s frames and mattes. Give it a
clean, modern chromatic look. I like to layer my photos, which gives a little bit more dimension
to the wall. And, for a creative tip, mix some of your verticals with your horizontals.
And remember to choose a shelf that’s wide, that has a lip, to keep your pictures from
falling off. [MUSIC]
