Easy Jam Tart Recipe – By Vahchef @ vahrehvah.com

hello namaste salaamwalekum satsriyakaal; welcome back to another session with your VahChef at Vahrehvah.com. Today we’re going to learn how to make very simple Jam tarts. You know in the coming sessions we will do various kinds of tart and quiche. But today, I’m going to show you very simple tart. For this take 60 grams of butter and 100 grams of flour and add pinch of salt if you have taken unsalted butter. Now, you know we’re going to make this into a nice crumb. You know just put your fingers in and then just rub in this flour along with the fat so they become like you know sand; powdered sand and like little crumbs. Now in this add around 30 grams of powdered sugar. Mix all of this and just make crumble it, you know if you require just use the both the hands and just do it like this, so this will become nice and crumbled. Now look at this, this is knoll crumbled. And in this add very little milk, just around 15-20 ml milk. Speically if you’re using white butter, the white butter may have more moisture so add just 15 ml of milk. If you’re using yellow butter, then you can use upto 30 ml of milk. just kneed this and make this ike a dough. Now after mixing look at this dough. This is nice short crust but at the same time this is slightly softer. You’ll be able to mold this dough just like you play around with clay. Now look at this dough, this is nice and soft. Add some flour onto the table and then roll them into thin sheets. And then take a cutter and cut them. And then, you know take this cut dough and just put it in a tart mold and then just press it Ok. Now if we put this in the oven, what will happen is it will puff up in the center Now to avoid this dough from puffing up what we do is, we add some weight in this, usually a gram or any you know dal Just put it in this and now these are ready to go into the oven to get baked. Ok. Just put this on a tray like this and bake them at 180 degree centrigrade for around 10 minutes. Ok. Now look at these. You know, once you bake them, you let them slightly cool down. After that just remove off these beans out and then you’ll have these awesome tarts ready. And look at them, you know look at them. Then you’ll be able to remove from the mold. You get a nice shape and also there are no puff ups in this. Now we’re going to fill this with jam and make these awesome jam tarts. You know, look at these. You know you fill the jam and you know for making jam tarts, you need the tarts to be even smaller than these. You know but the smallest tart mold I have is, these ones and to be very frank, these are big to be jam tarts. But anyway always cut some design with the left over dough, like the way I did the stars here. Just bake them on the same tray and later you can use them as a nice decoration. You have learnt how to make the dough for this very simple jam tarts. Ideally these tarts have to be bite size but these are little more bigger than the bite size for me; mainly because they are filled with jam. If they were filled with some quiche mixture and put some shrimp in it, this would have been very small for me. Dear friends, I hope you enjoyed today’s session of learning the very basic, very simple jam tarts with your vahchef but do not forget that vahrehvah is all about inspiring others to cook so please post your recipes and cooking tips at vahrehvah.com so others can benefit from your great cooking. Thank you.
