Creating a 3-D Picture : Frame For a 3-D Picture

The first thing that we want to do is decide
on an image that we’re going to use. We need to paint the background of the frame, and
before we start painting the background we want to know what color scheme we’re using.
So I pick out my napkins that I’m going to be using for the image and then I can go ahead
and choose some colors. Here I have a purple. I’ll be using some greens and yellows and
that basically will match the image that I’m using. I’ll put my colors in my little dish.
This will be much easier to work with being that they don’t come in any kind of container
that you can dip the brush in. So we’ll start out with the purple and we’re going to color
our frame. I chose to use the acrylic, the water based acrylic paints because they dry
very quickly and this way it doesn’t hold up our project, but really any color will
do. In fact I’ve seen a project done with just staining the wood which gives a nice
effect without any kind of color. So really you’re not limited to this type of paints,
but this is the easiest to use for this type of project. These paints also let you mix different colors
and create different types of shades of the same color, so it’s also one reason why I
like using these type of paints, but again any type of paints would be able to do the
same thing.
