Art with Emily – Tissue Paper Fish

Hi, my name is Emily. And today we are going to be making fish out of tissue paper for scales. First, you will need some paper that is not too thick or thin like watercolor paper. And then you will draw a fish on it with maybe a little line so that you know where to put the tissue paper and don’t put tissue paper on the tail. And then you will need a goggly eye, tissue paper cut into square pieces, and some glue. Let’s begin. First, you will need a pencil. Pick out the first color that you are going to use on your fish. Wrap it around your pencil eraser top. Dip it in the glue. Put it down. And wrap it down. Now, you have one scale. So when you are done putting one, you will take the same color, put it until you are done with the row. And then when you are done, you are going to pick out a different color and start your next row. Now we done with our second row that I put in indigo we are going to use now a different color wrap around our pencil and do one more row. You are going to keep finishing it until our fish is filled. Now, we are done with our fishie, we are going to bead the tail. So, now that you are done with your tail, you might want to draw a little smile on your fish just to show that it’s happy. And if you didn’t want to make a fish, you can choose something else that has scales like a mermaid. You can even use it for the bra that goes on her chest. Now, we are done with our fishie. Bye!
