Amazing storm photos shared with KCCI’s ulocal

Along with all of the great images and video our crews have been out collecting today, our viewers have been sending in their own to us. We have received hundreds of photos and videos. Our viewers grabbed their phones and cameras as the storms first started moving in with their oddly beautiful cloud formations signaling us what was to come. And then the rain and lighting and thunder started. And as the pictures started coming in, we could tell this was no isolated storm. It was hitting all of us. The heavy rains flooded yards and streets from Carlisle, to Norwalk, to Ankeny, and Johnston. It turned backyards into raging rivers. And then came the winds. It toppled trees from Winterset, to Indianola, to Roland, to Churchville and Story City. It damage cars and houses. But that wasn’t the end. Then came the hail. It hit Fort Dodge. It pounded cars in Rockwell City. Houses in Adair. It came small and piled up like snow. It came by the shirt full. It came in quarter size. Tennis ball sized. Baseball sized. And even paint can sized. And our viewers captured it all. Until the very end. Until the skies cleared and the storms gave way
